the new beginning
Th ebest I have felt in months my new training is going great and it could not be more simplistic. I will reveal all when get my laptop I wish I had trained like this before no knee pain freshness in my legs and cant wait to train on top of training less and the dream of lifting at 69 next year looks very much on the cards

sundays double time
today i had enough time to train twice something i really enjoy i even had time to relax eat a steak dinner and watch the pool destroy chelsea....... steak and a liverpool victory now that sets me up for training
sunday morning
power snatch 1 floor 1 below knee 65 for 5 sets
snatch trebles 75 for 5 sets
sunday evening
power clean and 2 power jerk 80 for 5 sets
clean front squat jerk 100 for 6 sets
monday cause couldnt be arsed putting a new post together
snatch balance 80 for 5 sets of 2
snatch 85 for 5 singles
back squat 3 sets 2 at a miserable 130
yes the weights are very light but its the first week back there is no rush in progressions i will progress nice and simple with 2.5 kg per week in each lift and then the simplicity of it all kicks in

fridays frolics
fridays training involved me attempting to survive life. thursday night involved two cans of the local juice while watching tv which turned into boys being boys which resulted in copious amounts of abuse and an adventure to the social hotspot that is the lodge........ a garlic cheese chips hot chicken roll and chips later i was all recovered

power snatch 5 sets 2 at 70
snatch 5 sets 2 at 80
snatch pulls 3 sets 3 at 85
very surprised at how good my snatches were as had not snatched in over 2 weeks enjoying my new way of training focusing on one lift per session
thursday
power clean and 2 jerks 5 sets at 80
clean and jerk 5 sets 2 at 90
clean pull 130 3 sets of 3
the weights are quite light at the moment but will get progressively heavier but will be in no rush ...... i have had a change in philosophy in the last few weeks
weightlifting performance is all about the destination and not the journey who cares how i achieve my desired results and performance all that matters is i achieve it ......

stop making shit of my athletes !!!!!
i was away for a few days and as a results i had to get someone else to cover my sessions i am very protective of anyone i train and unless i know someone and know they aint a complete idiot i generally wont let you train my athletes. i do a number of pieces of work and the way things worked out and the politics of certain situations i was not in full control of who covered my sessions oh by god this wont happen again.
there are many bluffers in the industry/ profession of strength and conditioing if you hear someone use the abbreviations s and c thats when you set your bullshit alarm on high alert. even the words strength and conditioing kinda annoy me its just training people you are a trainer no need for any fancy long winded terms someone asks me what do you do oh ya i train people and i think there is some college work in there somewhere.....
anyway i have drifted off topic some genius that was covering my sessions was so much of a bluffer that when i walked into the gym with the lads this week i was greeted with comments such
"andy who was that fucking idiot we had last week"
"who was your man he not a notion what he was at " yes its good english from these lads
"our wrists were in bits for about three days he had us doing sets of ten in the front squat with more weight than we have even done for a single"
" he was some clown"
"his hair looked stupid"
yes these were the kids that have their own bullshit alarms built into themselves. if a bunch of kids can pick up on the bullshit and the complete idiocy of someone you cant hold out much hope for some people
this industry/ profession/ way of life is a very easy profession yes i said it its easy its so far from rocket science but yet there is so mant people making shit of it ............ and people...........
its like i always say dont do clap pushups with a blind guy

ITS BEEN A LONG LONG TIME
A few weeks have passed since th club championships and needless to say if you are reading this you know what happened. I lifted well in the snatch and then clean and jerk came and went just like the score board in the warm up room that read differently to the one in the compeition hall ??? needless to say i was unable to make the sily jump from 100 to 120 in the clean and jerk i cleaned it three times hitting myself in the chin on the first attempt and then failing miserably in the jerk.
since this i have only trained twice and the first one was only cause byrd was home and i wanted something to do other than sitting in the house watching tv. i was away then for a few days so i have more aless had two full weeks of no training and it has been nice to clear the mind and get ready for whats ahead.
monday i trained properlyish

box squat 6 sets 3 at 100 to 12inch box
